Super sleek Triathlon/TT builds on show from 7pm

Orbea to launch Ordu at King’s Cross Cycle Surgery tonight

Orbea is set to launch its new Ordu OME (Orbea Monocoque Evolution), Triathlon/TT bike at Cycle Surgery’s Kings Cross store this evening at 7pm.

Derived from the Ordu OMR (Orbea Monocoque Race), which currently holds the record for the fastest Ironman bike leg ever recorded of 4:02: beating its own previous record (4:04:), the OME boasts numerous practical improvements. Among these are a 17 per cent improvement in stiffness, and a 16 per cent saving in wattage @48kph when matched against the Ordu Silver.

The primary difference in the two bikes is in the grade of carbon used in their manufacture, with the OME built to retain the majority of the OMR’s characterisitics via the addition of strength and stiffness structural channels in the frame’s construction. Both builds carry Orbea’s lifetime warranty.

Each of the Ordu frames is EC/DC compatible, meaning the bike can utilise either mechanical or electronic groupsets without any issues, while the longer rear stays of the OME buck the trend in this segment, yet allows for a straighter chain-run between front and rear cogs for newer 11-speed groupsets.

The Ordu OME enters the market with the M30, priced at £1,699 and comes equipped with Shimano 105 drivetrain and shifting components, while Vision provide their new Team 25 wheels for this entry model. The Ordu OME range tops out at £5,899 for the M10LTD version, which is equipped with Dura Ace Di2; Trimax Carbon cockpit and a Vision Metron 55 carbon wheelset.

The Ordu OME is available from this weekend from Cycle Surgery across the UK.
