The software is designed to allow athletes to download training data, such as heart rate, cadence, speed and power, from Polar heart rate monitors and analyse it in graphical and tabular form.
Information about training sessions – for example duration, distance and speed – can also be reviewed.
Commonly used routes and sessions can be stored and quickly recalled. Total times, distances and number of sessions can be viewed per week, month or year. Equipment usage and user-defined keywords, such as weight and energy expended, can also be tracked.
Development work on the software was carried out in conjunction with sports scientist and coach Joe Beer.
Version 2.0 is a free upgrade to existing TrainingLog customers. A demo version, limited to 20 entries, can be downloaded from http://www.ismarttrain.com
The full version costs $40.00. It can be purchased either from within the application using eSellerate, or on OTAG Technologies’ website. Windows and Linux versions are currently in development but, pah, who needs them...?
