IBDs which meet volume targets will be in with the chance to meet Superbike superstar Carl Fogarty in a VIP package at one of the UK's World Superbike rounds. The package includes full hospitably, pit walks, watching the racing and also the chance to meet with Fogarty and the other Foggy PETRONAS motorbike riders. And custom-painted Foggy PETRONAS Kona MTBs may go on general release next year.

Paligap to launch SuperBike incentive scheme for IBDs

Kona-distributor Paligap Ltd. is a new sponsorship partner of Foggy PETRONAS Racing (FPR), the motorbike team.

The Foggy PETRONAS team was set up at the end of 2001, with the aim of producing a Foggy FP1 Superbike that will be raced in the World Superbike Series. Paligap have produced custom Foggy Petronas Racing Mountain Bikes for the team to use at all rounds of the World Superbike Series. The bikes were produced in the Foggy FP1 colours.

When at races, the hospitality area can be a long walk away from the pits and, due to the amount of spectators, driving is not an option, so riding a bicycle is the sensible option for the team.

Foggy and his two World Superbike riders James Haydon and former World Champion Troy Corser have chosen to ride, along with their FPR Kona Bikes, standard spec Kona King Kikapu’s to train on in between events.

Russ Carty of Kona said: “This is an great partnership for Kona, we are reaching another world of two wheelers. This association is in addition to Kona’s support of Colin McRae and since we are producing a range of limited-edition Colin McRae bikes, we may look at producing a limited run of FPR Kona bikes next year.”
