Stephen Murray fund benefits from cycle stars telesales day

Peat, Staff and Fisher raise £1,120 for charity

The coffers of the Stephen Murray Family Fund charity were boosted after the efforts of a Fisher Outdoor Leisure-organised telesales day on Tuesday April 27th.

Cycle champs Steve Peat and Jamie Staff manned the sales phones in aid of the charity. Any retailer taking up specific offers on KaaBoom, Vavert and Kansi – or anyone who spent over £500 with Staff or Peat – raised donations from the distributor to the charity.

The efforts of Staff, Peat, the retailers and the distributor raised £1,120 for the worthy cause.

"Loved it," said Staff. "From the moment we sat down we didn’t stop. I’ve never learnt so much about so many cycling products in such a short space of time before. To raise extra money for Stephen too feels fantastic."

Peat fought his way through airport queues and volcanic ash to take part: "I especially felt at home talking to retailers about SRAM and Troy Lee as they are brands I know well but the whole day was fun and I’m so pleased with what we’ve raised for Stephen’s Family Fund," he said.

Fisher sales director Mike Cook added: "We were blown away with the number of retailers who called in and pledged money to the Stephen Murray Family Fund either via taking us up on our offers or pledging money directly when talking to Jamie and Steve. Thank you all."
