www.NEWSdesk.com is a service from PR Newswire and normally costs a fair chunk of wedge. Journalists sign up to the service and get targetted press releases sent to them by email.
NEWSdesk has just started a transport news service, having kicked off last year with an entertainment service. Out of the many transport keywords journalists can choose from, cycling wasnt one of them.
Following a nudge from BikeBiz this was changed and any press releases cycle suppliers provide will now be e-mailed directly to journalists who tick the freshly-added cycling box.
The news is currently mostly from the US although NEWSdesk is slowly adding UK & European content.
The submission of press releases is free of charge until 1 April.
The normal fees are £160.00 for 400 words and £40.00 for every 100 words thereafter.
