RoadCyclingUK and Trek have teamed up to launch a brand new Fantasy Tour de France game. Players who sign up will create their own Tour de France dream team and will compete for a chance of winning a Trek Madone 5.2 worth £2,800.
The free-to-play game lets users splash a €65 million budget on nine riders to guide them to glory in the world’s most iconic cycling race.
The top team at the Paris finale on July 24th will win a Trek Madone 5.2 in Leopard Trek colours. Second place will receive a Bontrager Race XXX Lite Clincher wheelset worth £1,800 and third place receives a full Leopard Trek team kit (including a Bontrager Oracle helmet and RXXXL shoes) worth £500.
Fantasy team managers will have the opportunity to make transfers, tweaking their team as the race heads into the mountains, and the chance to challenge friends in a mini-league. Plus, the highest scoring manager each week will win a set of Bontrager All Weather Hardcase Tyres.
The Tour begins on July 2, where riders will earn points based on their performance on each of the 20 individual stages. Points are awarded based on the result of each stage, yellow and green jersey positions and the final result of the entire race.
Team managers will also pick a bonus stage, on which their team’s points will be doubled, plus a bonus Pro Team option. The full RCUK Trek Fantasy Tour de France rules are available on the website.
