Big H? No, not Halfords, Harrods. Cycles UK, a fourteen strong store chain, operate a cycle store within Harrods of London and have seen strong sales across mountain, BMX and hybrid GTs.

Sales of GT bikes from the Big H are “excellent”

Richard Scholfield of Cycles UK said: “We initially trialled GT in our Basildon store and after an excellent introduction it was a natural progression to take them to our flagship location. Sales so far have been excellent.”

Russell Merry from Hot Wheels believes that products such as GT’s centrally mounted hub gear IT-1 bike, launched at Sea Otter in April, will be a big success in Harrods. “The IT-1 is already attracting interest from the mainstream and cycle press and we believe it will be perfect for Harrods customers who, whilst they may not be hard core cyclists, will appreciate the technology and design.”

Along with the IT-1 GT will also launch another evolution of the I-Drive in the 2006 model year. I-drive 7 will have a full 7 inches of rear wheel travel and be launched at Eurobike.
