SOLE launches Active Footbed line

Performance footbed specialist SOLE has launched a new Active Footbed range.

The new footbeds have Polygiene coating for added comfort and improved hygiene. This material prevents the growth of odour-causing bacteria and fungi at the source. Using low concentrations of silver salt (silver chloride), which has antimicrobial properties, it is naturally present in water and soil. Polygiene is only active on the textiles itself and does not interfere with the skin’s natural bacterial flora.

Three products have been released, SOLE Active Thick, SOLE Active Medium, and SOLE Active Thin, with the latter designed specifically for cyclists and team players. The heat and wear mouldable footbeds have apparently been shown to reduce the inward twisting of the knee and ankle that can occur when cycling, which consequently reduces pain and discomfort in the knees and hips. A moisture-wicking top sheet and polygeine anti-odour treatment feature to keep the user’s feet fresh. Meanwhile, the footbed arch support and heel cup is designed to help reduce plantar fascia strain when pushing down on the pedal.

The Active Thin Footbeds suit low-volume tight-fitting footwear, making them suitable for rugby and football cleats as well.
