SRAM X7 has been revealed as a ten-speed, aimed at mid-level cross country and entry-level downhill riders working to a reasonable budget.

Later this year, an entire groupset is to be available to retailers, including X7 tailored Avid brakes. The 2x10 drivetrain is powered by a new S1400 crank, while new PowerGlide cassette ratios, combined with X-glide front shifting should make for a slick set of shifting components.

The X7 rear derailleur carries a few new technologies, as well as a carbon cage. SRAM's exact actuation shifting technology should make the experience feel identical to the XX standard. The entire groupset is finished in a 'storm grey' shade.

Rock Shox has also revealed a new fork which it describes as 'the new bull dog of 150mm travel'. Again, this product is designed to be the lower-priced alternative to the desireable Revelation fork.

Three axle and three spring options will be avialable with this model, meaning much of the fork can be tailored to the rider's trail style. 9mm, 15 and 20mm Maxle options will be on sale, while the three spring ptions are Coil, Solo Air or U-turn.

The fork is built from aluminium, holding a forged 6061 T-6 crown. Motion control, turnkey lockout and external rebound adjusters are present.

Last of all in this week's announcements, Avid's Elixir 3 maintains its status as a good value stopper, though works in the brand's unique 'TaperBore patented hydraulic closure system, which provides lighter lever travel through the stroke, while moving more fluid than a traditional timing port. The Elixir 3 offers up a sleek ambidextrous lever body and stout two-piece caliper.
