Global Bikes of Tattenhall, Cheshire, has got behind the upcoming Liverpool Chester Liverpool Bike Ride, running on Sunday July 8th.
The bike shop hosted training sessions for Claire House Children’s Hospice’s mascot Claire Bear in a publicity drive for the charity and ride. Claire House Children’s Hospice is the official charity for this year’s ride, which is now in its 19th year.
Global Bikes is sponsorship partner for the charity. Participants who register to raise money for Claire House Children’s Hospice and open a Just Giving account in June will be entered in to a draw to win a £75 voucher from the retailer.
“Claire Bear was a natural on the bikes, although she may want to change her shoes if she’s planning on completing the race," commented Global Bikes’ Dave Gelling.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be supporting Claire House at this event. Myself and my colleagues will be taking part in the Liverpool Chester Liverpool Bike Ride; I only hope Claire Bear doesn’t beat us to the finish line!”
Organised by Pennine Events, the ride offers five different routes of varying difficulty, ranging from a gentle 25 mile ride to a more demanding 90 mile Challenge Ride. Last year, over 2,500 cyclists took part, raising £20,000 for Claire House.
Jayne Dixon, Senior Event Fundraiser at Claire House Children’s Hospice, said: “The Liverpool Chester Liverpool Bike Ride is going to be bigger and better than ever this year because there’s something for everyone, and it’s all in support of your local children’s hospice.
“Whether you still need stabilisers or you’re the next Sir Chris Hoy, we’d love to see you at one of our start lines on July 8th.”
