New 250,000 sq ft facility to be fully operational by close of 2015

Trek doubles Wisconsin distribution space

Trek – which has been manufacturing bicycles in Waterloo, Wisconsin since 1976 – is to move its distribution centre in the same state to a site double the size.

Trek’s current global distribution centre in is Oconomowoc and will shortly move to a new 250,000-square foot facility in Johnson Creek.

Inventory will start to move across from autumn 2015, with the new centre scheduled to be fully operational by the end of next year.

Trek’s Oconomowoc employees have been offered positions at the new location, around 16 miles away.

"We’re excited about the expanded capabilities this new facility offers us," said Trek’s VP of supply chain Roger Gierhart. "We have always been committed to Wisconsin and this new center is going to help us become more efficient, streamline our warehousing and delivery processes, and gives us space to continue our growth."

Trek employs nearly 1,000 Wisconsin residents.
