Red Cloud-distributed brand wins accolade at Taipei

Velocite wins iF Design Award

Velocite Helios Aero has been selected as winner of a combined 2012 IF Design/Taipei Cycle Award in the bicycle category.

The aerodynamic carbon bike frame design was unveiled in the UK in October and features a full carbon BB30 shell and a tapered 1.5-inch full carbon fork. The Helios Aero frameset includes the frame, 50mm adjustable setback seatpost, seat post clamp, aerodynamic fork and headset has an RRP of £2,390 with complete bikes starting at £2,950 for the SRAM Apex equipped bike.

Red Cloud distributes the bike in the UK.

“We are very pleased with the industry’s recognition of our efforts to make the highest performance bicycles”, said Velocite CEO Victor Major. “This award-winning carbon frame is a collaborative design between Velocite and the world championship winning aero bike designer, Lewis Mathiske.

“What truly sets the Helios Aero apart from the competing aerodynamic road frames is that we achieved very high stiffness targets at a low weight without resorting to using wider tube profiles or shallower sections.”

Red Cloud’s Mark Almond added: “There are no MOQs and some strong margins on all Velocite products with all stockists also benefiting from free marketing advice and support from Red Cloud Marketing.

“We are sponsoring some high profile teams and riders and will be at many major cycle events this year. Reviews and other marketing activity are also now underway helping us create the demand and drive footfall to retailer’s shops.”
