To promote the fact it’s a three-way kit sponsor at Manchester velodrome, Moore Large invited 30 key accounts to a track day, with BMX dealers getting a chance to ride on the velodrome’s new BMX course and non-BMX dealers given an hour on the banked wooden track. Moore Large supplies the velodrome with Lake shoes and Limar helmets; and the velodrome’s rental BMX bike brand is Haro.
The 75 Haro bikes will be hired out around 40,000 times a year at one of the biggest indoor BMX tracks in the world.
Dealers present at the event included Mark Burgess of Wakefield Cycles; Mark Breeze of Breeze Bikes of Amble; and Paul Archer of Rutland Water Cycling (above).
On the track, dealers rode with – and against – World Masters champion Janet Birkmyre (above). On the BMX track, dealers rode with Haro Bikes rider Grant Hill.
Before their respective sessions dealers warmed up on the velodrome’s Wattbikes, with the velodrome’s cycling manager, Bob Barber.
The Manchester velodrome is home to the National Cycling Centre, the HQ for British Cycling, the governing body for cycling in Britain. The new, £20m BMX facility is the first ever permanent indoor BMX track in the UK.
