Vietnam's bicycle and cycle parts exports in the first two months of 2004 hit a record high of $43m, a 72 percent increase over last year, the Vietnamese Ministry of Trade has reported.

Vietnam’s bicycle and parts exports totalled $155m in 2003, a 125 percent increase over 2002.

Plus: after the seventh round of negotiations in Geneva, Ministry of Trade officials are confident Vietnam will soon join the World Trade Organisation. Trade agreements have recently been signed with the US and Japan, but the EU is currently blocking Vietnam’s entry into the WTO.
