Wahoo renews partnership with Team Sky

Wahoo, has announced a further two-year partnership deal with Team Sky.

The deal sees the continuation of Wahoo’s current three-year relationship as the Official Supplier of Bike Trainers to the four-time Tour de France winners.

As part of the partnership Wahoo will be kitting the team out with its new KICKR, which was recently unveiled at Eurobike 2016 (September).

The new KICKR will be used by Team Sky in warm ups, cool downs and as a part of their training and race day routines. Compared to the KICKR’s predecessor, the new model offers an increased power ceiling, even more accurate power measurement, and a quiet flywheel trainer.

Tim Kerrison, Team Sky’s Head of Athlete Performance, said: “Use of the Wahoo KICKR forms a crucial part of rider preparation and recovery at races like the Tour de France. We demand a product that is reliable, robust and able to withstand the demands of the toughest races and conditions.

"The KICKR is also key to structured, indoor training programmes, providing a ‘real ride’ experience.

"We continue to value Wahoo as an important partner of Team Sky because they share our commitment to continuous improvement. They are proactive in the way they seek feedback and are always looking to provide an even better rider experience."

Chip Hawkins, CEO and Founder of Wahoo added, “Wahoo’s commitment to innovation and the highest level of performance mirrors Team Sky’s approach to training and racing making for the perfect partnership. These values are the cornerstone of the new KICKR, making it the ideal indoor training tool for both Team Sky and athletes of every level.”
