July event takes in the sights of Devon coastline

Wiggle teams with The prostate Cancer Charity for Jurassic Classic

The Prostate Cancer Charity has linked with Wiggle to present the Jurassic Classic – a fundraising ride along the Devon coast.

The event, which will take place on Sunday July 8th, offers cyclists of different abilities the choice to cycle a circular route of either 100 kilometres or 100 miles along the picturesque Jurassic coastline.

Mark Bishop, director of fundraising, said: “We are extremely excited to announce the Wiggle Jurassic Classic 2012. The event is designed to fulfil the challenge needs of those with varying amounts of cycling experience. With a route set out along the Jurassic coastline we hope riders can enjoy the stunning scenery along the way and finish up at Exmouth Rugby Club to enjoy a celebratory drink with their supporters.

“Every year 37,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and with one man dying every hour from the disease we are urging cyclists to sign up, enjoy the day and support The Prostate Cancer Charity.”

The ride will be fully signed, marshalled with well-stocked feed stations on route, and a medal awarded at the end.

The venue of the start and finish is Exmouth Rugby Club, Imperial Recreation Ground, Exmouth, Devon.

To sign up registrants should visit: www.jurassic-classic.org.uk and for more information can contact the cycling team by calling 020 8222 7158, or emailing cycling@prostate-cancer.org.uk. Both distances cost £28 to take part in, with the 100 mile route starting from 7am and 100 km from 8am.
