Yorkshire cyclists to appear in new marketing campaign

Cyclists in West Yorkshire are being given the opportunity to become the face of a new marketing campaign.

The CityConnect programme, which aims to increase cycling and walking levels by improving infrastructure, is looking for six regular cyclists to star in upcoming advertising.

Participants’ photos will appear in digital, print and video adverts designed at encouraging more people in the region to use their bikes for everyday journeys.

Ginny Leonard, CityConnect’s Programme Communications and Engagement Manager, said: “The first phase of CityConnect, with the fantastic Leeds to Bradford cycle superhighway, is now nearing completion. I am really excited for the launch of the next phase, which will see further infrastructure improvements across West Yorkshire."

“With these developments, CityConnect is providing great opportunities for more people to discover the benefits of the bike for leisure journeys and commuting.”

To get involved in the campaign, entrants must be regular cyclists and fit one of the following demographic profiles: males and females aged 25 – 50, mothers with a young child or children, male students, ‘sporty’ males aged under 35, females in their twenties or thirties, and females aged 50 or over.

Those interested must be able to provide a high-quality photograph of them and their bike and a story or memory around their bike or what they love about cycling in general. If possible, they should also supply an old photograph of them on their bike as a child.

Leonard added: “With the infrastructure improvements that CityConnect is introducing, there has never been a better time to try cycling for yourself in West Yorkshire.”

Those interested in applying for the capmaign are advised to email corin@divacreative.com, or call 0114 221 0378
