With Reynolds Assault clinchers proving so popular the firm has added a tubular version for 2010.
The aggressive 46mm profile is ideal for general road racers, as well as cyclocross fanatics and comes at an competitive £899 price point. What’s more, Upgrade’s first shipment has just landed.
The weight of the Assault Tubs is kept down to just 1330g. The spec is made up of lightweight DT Swiss butted Revolution and Competition spokes with reliable sealed cartridge-bearing Reynolds hubs, which include a six-pawl freehub body.
The rims share technology with the more expensive models in the range, including uni-directional carbon fibre construction, boosted stopping performance (thanks to the tactile ‘scrim’ layer on the brake track) and hidden nipples, which improve aerodynamics.
