Bohle dies aged 75 after long running illness

Schwalbe founder Ralf Bohle passes away

Ralf Bohle, founder of Ralf Bohle GmbH and rubber brand Schwalbe, has passed away aged 75.

With over 50 years in the bicycle industry, Ralf was a bicycle advocate, standards creator and successful businessman.

Frank Bhole, Ralf’s son and current managing partner of the Bohle business said of his father: "Everything that constitutes the Bohle Group with the Schwalbe brand today exists due to his efforts, his ideas and his vision.”

Having struck a close relationship with an Asian family in the 70s, who themselves had an interest in the bicycle business, the two co-founded tyre brand Schwalbe, which today claims to be Europe’s top-selling bicycle tyre brand.
