Bike Republic brings Ebco, Wisper, Gocycle and Ultra Motor e-bikes to flagship Oxford Street store

Selfridges joins the electric bike revolution

Bike Republic has returned to Selfridges to promote electric and lifestyle bikes and accessories to the world-famous department store.

Gocycle, Ebco, Ultra Motor and Wisper are among the electric bikes featured at Selfridges’s flagship Oxford Street store. The brands Vanmoof, Schindelhauer and Cooper are also on show at the store, with Nutcase designer helmets among the accessory brands featured. Bike Republic’s test bikes were available in the Selfridges garage.

Bike Republic MD Jonathan Cole said: "We are delighted to be working with Selfridges again to be promoting these amazing products. With fuel prices at an all time high we are seeing a huge demand for our commuter bikes. The new fixed gear, city and road bikes are a very exciting addition to our superb e-bike range."

Ebco’s Eagle LSL-50 and LSR-50 are among the bikes showcased in the Oxford Street store. Both bikes have been developed for the UK market and were partnered with electric drive system manufacturer TranzX PST. The Eagle uses a lithium polymer battery, high-torque brushless motor and componentry from the likes of Shimano and Tektro.

Selfridges move to include e-bikes is not the first time a deparment store has dabbled in the e-bike phenomenon, with Gocycle appearing in John Lewis’ Oxford Street store in mid 2010.
