Shimano appoints new PR officer

Ben Hillsdon, formerly of Raleigh UK, has joined Shimano Europe as PR Officer.

Hillsdon fills the shoes vacated by Rudy Bouwmeester who has stepped up to a new role internally, becoming Sports Marketing and Events manager.

As PR officer, Hillsdon will cover Shimano and PRO’s extensive range of cycling components. He will take responsibility for product samples, media liaison, product launches and media camps, in collaboration with distributors from Shimano’s 40 European markets.

Hillsdon has five years’ experience in the cycling industry, previously working in marketing roles for Raleigh and the DfT’s Cycling City Bristol programme.

Hillsdon said: “Whether through its cycling, rowing or fishing departments Shimano is a global brand that has fantastic awareness and respect, both inside the industry and through the millions of consumers who turn to its products. I am delighted to be joining the company and am excited to start developing the strong PR platform established by the European team.”

For media and press enquiries Ben Hillsdon can be contacted on bhi@shimano-eu.com.

Shimano’s European headquarters are in Nunspeet, Netherlands.
