In 2002, total sales were 134710 million yen with profit of 8064 million yen. Bicycle component sales rose by 12.4 percent over the 2002 total, with fishing tackle sales dropping by over six percent.
Shimano’s 2004 projection predicts a rise to 150000 million yen total sales with 14600 million yen ($136.3m) net profit after tax.
