Simple, lightweight TrackStand heads to Kickstarter

TrackStand – self styled as the most functional and adaptable bike stand on the market – has turned to crowd funding.

The stand has picked up some significant fans already, including Ireland Track Team Coach and Specialized Cycle Team mechanic Sandy Gilchrist.

Handmade in Yorkshire by Steve Marsden’s Od Designs, TrackStand can be folded up and stored away in three motions. It’s lighweight, compact and very sturdy and can be used as a single unit or with other TrackStands to present bikes before a race or on the shop floor.

Made from lightweight aluminium, it supports the bike by the chain and seat stays on either side of the bike. It adjust to accommodate a large range of frame sizes and can handle light track bikes and heavy DH MTBS alike, the brand said.

Gilchrist said: “I came to Steve because there was nothing on the market that suited our needs, the TrackStand solves all the original problems. It’s lightweight, compact and holds the bikes sturdily and we can put a few together to present the bikes. What Steve has made does an excellent job and for our purposes is ideal.”

So far the TrackStand has picked up over £3,000 backing on Kickstarter with little publicity so far. There are 17 days for it to reach its £25,000 target. Get involved on Kickstarter.
