The deal with Tesco supermarket is one coveted by the Singletrack crew but that doesn’t mean bike shops are being left behind:
"We are still committed to IBD stockists and will be making available some IBD exclusive offers and covermounts in 2007 to further encourage our readers to pop in to their local IBD to find Singletrack," said Singletrack publisher Mark Alker.
"We currently print every issue with two distinct covers. Only subscribers and IBDs get the limited edition cover-line free copies of Singletrack and we have no intention of stopping this."
In other magazine news, MBUK has covermounted its longest ever DVD on the November issue. ‘Flow’, a 90-minute DVD, has been put together by 24Seven boss, Fraser Basby. It features footage of Britain’s best dirt jumpers at May’s Filthy 48 festival as well as racing from the Fort William round of the UCI World Cup.
There are also technique demos from downhill national champ Marc Beaumont and freerider Chris Smith. Flow also features long jump record attempts and new footage of underground downhill racing in Brazil. The DVD also contains the 1995 MTB flick ‘Dirt’, available on DVD for the first time.
