Last Sunday in November expected to see big business online

”Sofa Sunday” may see Christmas peak for e-tailers

November 30th, branded ‘sofa Sunday’ by retailers, is expected to see a spike in online shopping, according to analyists.

With many national chains having reported their biggest day for pre-Christmas online sales falling on the last Sunday of November last year, the spike is set to be taken advantage of by big business, with the likes of Shop Direct launching a £1million marketing campaign to drive sofa-bound business.

If last year’s trends are anything to go by, sales are expected to peak late in the evening, between the hours of 9 and 11pm.

Online retail over the festive period is expected to be worth at least £13 billion.

With the cycle industry’s main online retailers already having decorated their home pages with Christmas promotions, has your store considered it’s Christmas marketing plans?
