Specialized steps in as co-sponsor of Enduro 6 event

The Karrimor/Specialized Enduro 6 is a self-sufficient race in which soloists and teams of two try to complete as many laps of the 7.5-mile course at Trentham Gardens in six hours. The start is Le Mans style with a half-mile dash to reach the bikes.

Seen by many as a precursor to the two big 24 hour enduro events – the Mountain Mayhem and the Shimano 24 Sleepless In The Saddle – the Enduro 6 got 400 soloists and teams attempting the course.

A press release from Specialized recommends using a mountain bike with suspension in the Enduro 6, "such as the [Specialized] Enduro or the new Epic, the bike with the brain. These bikes enable the rider to stay in the saddle for comfortable, all day, off-road riding."
