Brand aims for international audience with new portal, using 360 degree and 3D spin photography

Starley Bikes launches e-commerce site with SpinMe

Starley Bikes has launched its first e-commerce operation to sell directly in the UK and bring the brand to international customers.

Starley has appointed online imaging specialist SpinMe to provide a detailed viewing experience of each model from every angle using flat, 360 spin and 3D spin imaging. SpinMe is also used by Wiggle.

Starley Bikes are designed and hand built in the UK. The brand sponsors a number of British triathletes and a Facebook competition to win a new bike has been run to create interest in the run up to the launch.

As well as the new e-commerce site, Starley also retails through several bike dealers in the UK and has a showroom as well as its factory in Cheshire.

“Interest in Starley Bikes both in the UK and abroad is growing and our new e-commerce website offers customers a more convenient way to buy from us,” said Starley Bikes director Richard Peel. “Our products are high quality and the photography represents our brand image – SpinMe’s software and hardware allows us to display bikes in the best way possible online. People can zoom in for stunning clarity and view any part of a bike from any angle.”

SpinMe marketing director David Brint added: “Premium products need to be represented well online – imaging is absolutely key to this. Starley Bikes sell to a broad range of people, from sports professionals to bike enthusiasts, all who need high levels of detail to make sure their chosen bike is right for them. To be able to view products in this way is crucial to encourage buying confidence.”
