Were customers crowding the shop or staying away this Easter?

STRAW POLL: Easter – how was it for you?

In the bike trade, Easter is traditionally seen as the beginning of the retail season, for a combination of reasons: The sun is likely to be shining as spring gets underway, consumers have more time on their hands over the long weekend and then there’s fact they are probably looking to shift a few of the extra calories they gained while they were stuffing themselves up with chocolate eggs.

Plus getting out there cycling to keep the little ‘uns occupied over the school holidays all combine to make Easter a key trading period for the bike business.

In theory.

So, how was Easter for you? Did you spend it servicing hastily dusted off bikes that have been stuck in the shed for the past six months? Was your workshop putting in overtime? Or did you only have the shop dog and a couple of Creme Eggs to keep you company?

Tell us what you think in this straw poll, or add your thoughts to the comments below. It won’t be scientific, but it might be interesting.
