Straw Poll: Will London’s new superhighways boost bike businesses?

Does your till ring when your local council does something for cycling? (Assuming your local council has ever done anything for cycling.)

London’s mostly segregated cycle superhighways were given the go ahead last week while Newcastle announced it was to build a protected cycleway through its city centre just days later.

Both are great news for cyclists, of course, but are they good news for cycle businesses? Which leads us to this month’s straw poll topic:

This month we’re asking whether proper new cycle facilities have an impact on bike businesses, be that in London or anywhere else in the nation?

Do they encourage footfall into your shop? Hits on your site? Or sales on your till? Or do they not appear to have any impact? Tell us what you think by taking part in our straw poll. You can leave a comment after you’ve answered the survey question or below this story.

It won’t be scientific, but it might be interesting.
