Sunwise celebrates 20th anniversary

Founded in 1996, the Oxford based eyewear brand Sunwise celebrates 20 years as a brand. 

Sunwise, a subsidiarty of parent company Trans-Global Sports, was founded to fill what they percieved to be a gap in the UK sports market. The eyewear is now available in over 600 sports & outdoor retailers and 250 opticians in the UK and has exported to over 30 countries worldwide.

The first interchangeable model called the Rider was introduced in 1998 and featurd a quick release lens system allowing lenses to be changed depending on the weather. To the launch of the Chromafusion range in 2008 featuring light reacting polarised lenses to handle all weather conditions without the need to change lenses.

In 2007 Sunwise was awarded “Best British Export” by UK Trade and Industry for quality and design which was followed by Gold Awards in Men’s & Women’s Running in 2012. 

2016 includes the addition of new striking colours and designs within the collection and will see Sunwise® continue to be the global sports eyewear brand that people love, trust and respect.
