Tern Bicycles UK distribution expanding for 2013

Cyclemotion, Tern Bicycles’ UK office, has announced it is expanding the dealer network for the brand as from February 1st.

Cyclemotion as looking to partner with a select number of independent bike shops to sell Tern alongside the existing Evans network, coming after the first year of establishing Tern sales in the UK and Ireland.

Tern, launched in Europe at 2011’s Eurobike show, is headed up by Josh Hon and an experienced group who have largely been working with him for the previous 15 years, including Cyclemotion’s Mark Bickerton, who heads Tern’s UK activities. The brand has a global team of about 100 people based in Taiwan, USA, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, China and London.

The UK range includes 20-inch, 24-inch and 26-inch folding bikes with retail prices starting at £375 and rising to £2,000 hitting the commuter and road markets.

Tern said: "Tern Bicycles use the most up to date design, components and work with the best partners we can find to build the best quality folding bikes we can. We build durability and serviceability into the design from the start: Hydro-formed and 3D-forged, 6061 and 7005 aluminium; stainless steel for critical pivots, hinges, and fittings; Shimano, SRAM, Syntace, Schwalbe, Sapim, Velo, NorGlide, Kevlar, DuPont and more."
