Assemble a load of dead expensive bikes in a big hall at the NEC in Birmingham and the thieves get to work. No reports of bikes been stolen yet but watch out for 1800 mags going cheap...

The pilfering’s started at Bike 2001

The van containing 1800 copies of Singletrack magazine was stolen from the NEC last night. A thousand made it onto the Singletrack stand.

Singletrack editor Chipps Chippendale said:

"We’ve lost 1800 magazines, a couple of digital cameras, a laptop and

everyone’s pants – the van was 20 yards from the back door of the NEC.

"Not the best of starts, but at least [the van] wasn’t nicked on Sunday,

empty of mags, but full of money and credit card receipts."
