Tim Copsey has joined Zyro as brand manager for Tortec and Ashima Braking Systems.
Copsey will head up a new product development team for Zyro’s own Tortec brand to penetrate many more P&A categories over the next two years.
The new appointee joined the cycle industry ten years ago. Copsey spent six years working in retail and buying with Cycle Surgery and then Madison to brand manage soft goods and own-brand lines.
"Tim is a vital addition to the brand team with the remit to develop Zyro’s own brand offering," commented Simon Ellison, product director and co-founder.
Simon Ellison conceived the Tortec brand, which is developed in-house, eight years ago. Tortec is pitched at developing bread and butter accessories with cutting edge design, with a commitment to developing new tour, commute and road solutions, rather than ‘me too’ products, Zyro said.
Copsey added: "Tortec already offers a range of unique, well designed, effective and durable value-for-money products. We have focussed on adding value in the rack, mudguard and bottle cage sectors up to now and these lines will continue to be extensively developed, but I will be investigating additional sectors where we can add real value to our retailers and UK consumers, plugging the gaps in both the accessories market and Zyro’s existing portfolio."
Copsey’s experience in cycle braking systems has also earned him the additional role as brand manager for Ashima. Zyro is looking to strengthen the own brand product development and design team to work with Copsey on the brand.
