Brand joins increasing number of firms offering a 29-inch wheel model

Transition reveals first 29er

Transition Bikes has released details of its first 29-inch wheel bike.

Due in stores January 2012, the Bandit 29er is pitched as being more enduro than cross country, with an aggressive geometry and stout frame.

Based around 140mm travel forks, the Bandit 29er features 130mm rear wheel travel, a tapered headtube and 142mm x 12mm thru-axle dropouts. According to Transition, a slack head angle and low bottom bracket combine with the increased axle height to give the rider a more stable, planted feel on the trail.

The firm said: “On a Bandit 29 you are “in” the bike, not “on” the bike. The Bandit 29 offers amazing cornering traction and increased confidence while descending. The 29” wheel size is a welcome addition to our product line and we think you’ll be stoked to see how much fun a big wheeled bike can be!”

The Bandit 29er is available in three colours, as a frame only or a complete bike. The 26er version, meanwhile, will be available at the end of this month.

The Bandit 29er is available from Surf Sales. For more details contact Sean Reynolds on 07799 131631 or at seanr@surf-sales.com or the Surf Sales office on 01303 850553.
