Buffera announces UK environmental cleanup project

UK set to get Buffed up

Buffera is set to take the Buff environmental cleanup programme to South West London next month.

The cleanup, set to improve the River Wandle in Merton, is the first time Buff’s environmental initiative has come to the UK, following projects in Aiguafreda in Spain and Villeneuve St Georges, France.

When Original Buff SA launched Wool Buff it pledged to support environmental restoration projects across the world via sales of the product. One per cent of sales of Wool Buff – made from 100 per cent Merino wool and an environmentally friendly header card – are used to fund the environmental cleanup projects.

The River Wandle project is dedicated to restoring and maintaining the health of the rider and its catchment area in Colliers Wood/ Autumn Close. Volunteers will remove litter from the river and its banks, recycling 80 per cent of the waste collected.

The projects are selected and managed by Laneo – a global initiative connecting groups to help clean up the planet. Buff SA became partners with Laneo in June 2009.
