Ullrich’s cellphone bill not paid; T-Mobile cuts service

Just as Lance Armstrong feasts on gratis Powerbars and wears no-cost Nike trainers, members of the T-Mobile pro cycling squad get free cellphones from T-Mobile.

But, if the report in Bild Zeitung and later procycling.com is right, it appears that the gab tab is not picked up by the German telecomms giant.

According to the newspaper, the telephone bills of the team’s T-Mobile phones are normally paid by the team HQ. But Ullrich’s went walkabout, hence the network termination.
