Velotech Services on Cycle Show, Ovalisation and triathlon growth

Velotech Services has recently expanded into a second premises. How did the move go and what led to the need for expansion?
Yes indeed, we have taken additional space which gives us showroom and workshop facilities in a rural setting just outside Stratford-upon-Avon. We will provide support and training for ROTOR POWER products, alongside trade staff training facilities.

This year you took on distribution duties for the USN nutrition brand. Are you distributing the full range to the trade?
The range is extensive and of course our sport doesn’t require the complete offering. Traders can source the endurance and recovery products from Velotech Services now with a High Performance racing drink in tubs or sachets and six flavours of gels we offer great start up packages and point of sale to get the shops online.

You’ve also recently taken on Japanese tri frame brand Ceepo. What can you tell us about the brand and how do they measure up to the competition?
Ceepo is a great brand for all concerned. The product itself carries great kudos amongst triathletes in both Europe and around the world – and it was never handled well in the UK before. With Velotech being a bike company we can support the trade with some very competitive high margin framesets or complete builds.

Will there be any marketing or POS available for Ceepo?
Our dealers will be offered strong POS and the marketing will start in the triathlon mags in August. Test bikes are available for magazine tests already.

And will there be Ceepo/ROTOR packages available for dealers?
Ceepo will of course be offered with a range of ROTOR products to suit the level of bike, the package prices will add up to high margins for the trade.

How has ROTOR performed for you so far this year?
ROTOR has made a significant impact on the market in the last 12 months, mainly because this is the first year the trade has fully embraced Ovalisation, along with the versatility of the 30mm axle cranks and the Universal BB systems. I have vivid memories of being shown the door regarding Qrings, but now it’s a rewarding revenue stream for our dealers. The trade can plug into our B2B very easily or make an appointment to discuss becoming premier stockists to get access to the test rings and trial schemes.

And are there any products in the pipeline for ROTOR?
The answer is very clearly yes! Eurobike will be previewing the new ROTOR offerings. Also the POWER cranks are now fully developed with updated firmware to help talk with the Garmin devices. Power has been available to order from us for nine months now and lead times have suffered because of its international success. ROTOR has doubled the production to help us get the lead time down to approximately two weeks from end of September.

Velotech is going to be exhibiting at NEC Cycle Show in September. Can you give us a hint about what new products will be launched there?
NEC for us will see the all-new ROTOR products that were launched at Eurobike, together with the offering from CEEPO tri specific bikes.

Spin Ti bikes and now our newly released Spin wheel range which we intend to make available to the trade.
RIPARO is a great new product developed ourselves as a carbon protection system. We have some great demonstrations on show and I think that the public will see the value in it immediately.
