The directors of VOLT e-bikes have announced a strategic partnership with Sweden’s biggest e-bike manufacturer EcoRide.
The partnership will see the launch of new business Walleräng E-Bikes, created with the core intention of targeting the global market and becoming Europe’s largest dedicated e-bike manufacturer.
Official launch to the market will be at Eurobike next week on stand A4 – 605.
VOLT’s Lyle Metcalfe told BikeBiz: "By harnessing the design, manufacture, marketing and production skills of both VOLT and Eco-Ride, we are convinced this new brand will make a solid impact on the e-bike world. We are manufacturing these bikes in Sweden. We’re looking for distributors Europe-wide for this exciting new brand."
Talking more broadly about the VOLT brand, Metcalfe added: "2014/2015 has proven an exciting period for us. In late 2014 we began working on a bike design which features the new Shimano Steps central crank motor, we wanted a partner already known for the highest quality bicycle components and who better than Shimano. We officially launched the “VOLT Infinity Shimano Steps” in early July 2015, with stock shipping at the end of this month. We’ve already taken numerous backorders and are very proud to be the first British e-bike manufacturer to partner Shimano on their e-bike motor technology.
"Throughout 2014/15 VOLT has been featured in many well-known high street publications and TV programs including Gadget show, the Mail on Sunday, BikeBiz, Total Women’s Cycling, Electric Bike Magazine, T3 Magazine; achieving a number of awards including best e-bike of the year by T3 magazine."
