Visitors can bag a trip to Lanzarote by racing on the firms static bikes at Earls Court

Wattbike set to make Cycle Show debut

Wattbike is hosting a 500m indoor time trial on its static bikes at the Cycle Show next month.

Attendees will be encouraged to compete for a chance to win a holiday to Lanzarote for two, or bag a variety of prizes at the show.

Wattbikes, the only static bikes endorsed by British Cycling, will be appearing at the show for the first time.

Cycle Show event director Andrew Brabazon said: “We wanted to offer something new for 2009 and the Wattbike indoor time trial is a fantastic addition to the show. For just a small amount of effort, anyone who takes part could win the Sport Tours Holiday to Club La Santa.”

Wattbike’s John Wilson enthused: “Anyone taking part in the time trial can post their times to our World Rankings database and see how their times compare. The fastest time at the moment is 27.29. Visitors should set their times early if they want to have the opportunity to improve them during the show.”

Wilson added: “By simply getting on the bikes and having a go in the Polar View mode visitors will be able to see how efficient their pedalling is and make very basic adjustments that will translate into smoother, more efficient cycling.”
