Send in your suggestions for what, and what not to do in the cycle retail world

What are your top dos and don’ts for bicycle retailers?

Are you an experienced independent bicycle dealer? Do you have some sage words of wisdom to share with the rest of the trade? Or any blunders you made when you were just starting out?

We’re asking for bicycle dealers to share some of their dos and don’ts for a special article in BikeBiz magazine.

Is it a ‘no brainer’ to help customers fix work they’ve botched on their bikes using inferior parts? Are organising rides to build the name of your shop more trouble than they’re worth? Is it really necessary to employ staff that love cycling, or is that a common misconception?

Like Coca Cola, you’re unlikely to want to share your magic formula for turning a profit with every Tom, Dick or Harry out there, but there are bound to be some general titbits of advice that you could share with the trade community…or failing that, some funny stories to share about early mistakes.
