Wiggle launches Alipay for Chinese customers

Wiggle has added a new payment system – Alipay – to its website to make shopping more convenient for its chinese customers.

Wiggle has enjoyed consistently strong growth across Asia and has worked hard to nurture and develop its relationship with its Chinese customers. The Wiggle site was first launched in Chinese language in autumn 2011 and the Yuan was subsequently added to its onsite currency options. In 2012 Wiggle’s dedicated Chinese site was launched.

Maddy Riordan, Head of International Marketing for Wiggle said: “When Chinese shoppers requested a local payment method we wanted to respond quickly and turned to one of the world’s most trusted online payment solutions, Alipay. With over 700 million registered accounts, we know that we are putting our Chinese customers in safe and reliable hands.”

Wiggle is only the third British retailer to offer Alipay. The online retailer now has dedicated websites for the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Japan, China and Russia.
