CSC, a division one team based in Denmark with Cervelo-equipped riders getting plenty of telly exposure in the Tour de France, is the latest top flight team to sign for the Tour of Britain, 1st-5th September

Yates’ team to ride Tour of Britain

CSC’s Michele Bartoli and Ivan Basso will take part.

Bartoli is 27th in the UCI ranking list and is a winner of the World Cup competition in 1997, was third in the road race at the World Championships in 1998, and also won the Amstel Gold Race in 2002. He is also a double winner of the Tour of Lombardy in 2002 and 2003. B

Basso is 24th in the world rankings and is already riding well in the Tour de France. In 2002 he was voted the Best Young Rider on the Tour and last year finished seventh in the GC. In 2003 Basso was second in the San Sebastian World Cup race.

Sean Yates, the former super-domestique on the Motorola team and others, is part of the CSC management team.
