That could be a rallying cry to get more runners, rowers, skaters, swimmers etc on bikes. Both Yvonne McGregor and Jason Quelly are relative latecomers to cycling. And its not just sports stars we could be grooming...

You could become a cycling champion

Yvone McGregor was originally a runner and only took up cycling eight years ago. Now she has Britains first bronze medal for a female cyclist.

Jason Quelly was a water polo player. Five years ago he started cycling. Now hes got a gold medal.

Cycling is good for you. And for your medal prospects. Of course, its also good for anybody, athlete or no athlete. Its a body-shaping form of green transport. Thats the message that the BA could be ramming home right now. Why hasn’t it launched pro-bike campaigns after the fuel crisis?
