Bristol-based Temple Cycles is seeking crowdfunding to significantly grow its business.
If successful, the company will launch a revamped range of custom bikes, recruit 15 staff members and invest in manufacturing bikes from scratch in the UK.
Temple Cycles’ owners are calling for investors to take a part of ten per cent of the company to help it grow UK manufacturing. The team is looking for £150,000 of investment in order to develop new products, hire and train new staff and expand the current facilities.
The campaign will go live this month and run until March 2017. It will be managed through CrowdCube with a minimum investment of £10.
“We want to grow bicycle production in the UK,” Said owner Matt Mears. “We want to make beautiful, stylish British bicycles here in Bristol and sell them throughout the World. There was a time when the UK’s bicycle industry was the envy of the World – it’s our dream to bring those days back.”
Temple Cycles is owned and operated by 26-year-old Mears in Bristol. He started restoring classic bicycles whilst studying at the city university and founded Temple in 2014 with £5,000 of his own money. In two years he created a full range of hand-made bicycles.
Temple Cycles will offer investors a range of rewards ranging from special edition merchandise to one-of-a-kind custom bicycles. The investment will allow the brand to research new products such as e-bikes and high-quality kids bikes and refine current adult models.
